All of the devices that are "officially" supported appear in the three drop menus on our home page. These are all devices that we have acquired and physically tested ourselves. We know exactly how to optimize video for these devices and are aware of at least one option for sideloading video into them.
What if my device is not listed?
There are probably another 100 or more devices that would work perfectly well, but haven't been tested yet. If your device is not listed, look for a similar device. For example, if you have a cell phone that's not listed try picking a similar device from the same manufacturer.
Why do I need to select a device?
When we were categorizing the video qualities of all of the devices we tested we came up with 30 different profiles, any one of which would be optimized for a particular group of devices. There are variations in video compression, audio compression, frame rate and file format that all impact on whether the video will play back on your device. For every title on this website there are 12 different possible downloads. It is therefore important that you select the right device before your start downloading videos.
Why aren't the Archos 404 or 504 listed?
We have found that the 504 is unreliable in it's support for WMV playback. The 604 and the new 5 series are fine.
